Stevens Benzene Recovery Project
Led a team of Senior Engineers at Stevens Institute of Technology to a finalist position in the Stevens Ansary Design and Entrepreneurship Competition. Designed an automated system to produce salable BTX operating fuels from previously discarded byproducts. Project directed towards small-scale oil refineries, and 99% of impurities were removed when forming crude oil into gasoline using the program. These costs are rectified with total product sales, gasoline, diesel, and new BTX fuels together, a total of $97M in the first year with a payout period of initial costs in about 5 and a half years based on a 20% rate of return. This Project was inspired from the AICHE Student design competition for the 2020-2021 Academic Year.
