The purpose of this experiment is to design a passive crossover network that separates a broadband signal into two signals which drive a speaker system. The speaker system consists of a sub-woofer and a mid-range tweeter . The crossover frequency of the filter should be between 100-125 Hz, with a filter slope of -12 dB/octave or better. The sound output needs to be at least 75 dB. Using programs such as MATLAB and Simscape, to do so, each portion of the speaker crossover network were tested. The circuit was modeled in Simscape before prototyping. After completing the preliminary testing and the construction of the crossover network, I tested the crossover network as a whole by connecting it to a speaker and a Macbook.
