Design II

I was required to make a system that was able to monitor the temperature, humidity and light intensity in an office with the utmost precision. This was able to be achieved due to the fact that I drew upon information and experiences gained from previous lessons in the class involving photocells, digital sensors, micro-controllers and 3D printing. Due to the system being placed on a desk, certain aspects such as elegance, safety and functionality are key to the systems success. The requirements for the system, both physical and functional, are that all components must fit on the given peg board in an enclosure approved by the course’s mechanical design theme, measurement intervals can not be longer than ten minutes and must have six measurements per hour, must be able to communicate with the cloud server using Stevens-Media Wifi and finally the system must be able to collect data for a time period longer than seven days.
